Email UsDeveloping rolls
How do I develop a roll?
- On the Develop tab, tap Import from SD Card or Import from Camera Roll.
- Tap any photos you want to leave out, then tap Continue.
- Pick a film, give the roll a name if you like, and tap Develop.
Your roll develops in the background, even if you leave the app, and you'll get a notification when it's ready.
Can I add photos to a roll later?
Yes. Open the roll and tap + Add photos at the end of the grid (or ••• › Add Photos). New photos are developed in the same film and slot in by the date they were taken.
Can I change a roll's film?
Yes. Open the roll, tap ••• › Redevelop in Another Film. Your edits are kept.
Which files can I import?
JPEG, HEIC and RAW files from most cameras (including ARW, CR2, CR3, NEF, RAF, DNG, ORF and RW2). When your camera saves RAW + JPEG, RollMates shows them as one photo and imports the RAW.
SD cards
How do I import from an SD card?
- Plug the card into your iPhone with an SD card reader.
- Tap Import from SD Card. The first time, tap Choose Card, then in Files tap Browse, choose your card under Locations, and tap Open.
- After that, RollMates shows your card's photos straight away, newest first. Swipe across photos to select several at once.
My card isn't showing up
Make sure the card reader is plugged in and the card appears in the Files app under Locations. In RollMates, open the SD card screen, tap ••• › Use a Different Card and choose it again.
Sharing with mates
How do I add mates?
On the Mates tab, tap the person icon to search by username, share your invite link, or show your QR code (also on your Profile) for a friend to scan with their Camera. You become mates once they accept.
Who can see my shared rolls?
Only your mates. You choose which photos to share from each roll, and mates see smaller copies made for viewing. Your full-quality photos stay on your iPhone. If you turn on a link preview for a roll, people you send its link to can see the cover and a blurred peek.
How do I stop sharing a roll or a photo?
Open the roll in My Rolls and tap Shared with Mates › Stop Sharing. To leave out one photo, press and hold it and tap Stop Sharing This Photo.
How do I report or block someone?
Open their profile or one of their rolls and tap ••• › Report or Block. You can also report a comment by pressing and holding it. We review reports quickly.
Your account and photos
Where are my photos stored?
Your rolls are kept on your iPhone and included in your iPhone's iCloud Backup. Deleting RollMates deletes them too, so save the photos you love to Photos (open a roll and tap the download button).
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile › Settings › Delete Account and confirm with Apple. Your profile, mates and shared rolls are deleted for good, and RollMates is removed from your Apple Account's Sign in with Apple. Rolls on your iPhone aren't affected.
I'm not getting notifications
Check iPhone Settings › Notifications › RollMates and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Notifications from mates need you to be signed in.
